In mere two weeks, on May 2,  Libre Graphics Meeting 2012 starts in Vienna, Austria. What's coming?

Today is the first day of Linux Audio Conference 2012, hosted by the Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA) at Stanford University, USA.

Creators of Morevna Project, an open anime movie, started a fundraiser to cover the $2200 worth expense of keyframing the demo. Should they succeed raising funds, the team will be able to be done with the demo by the end of the year.

Earlier this month TEMBE, a group of argentinian animators, publicly released "Viaje a la tierra del Quebracho" — the open movie they worked on most part of the last year.

This week the second meeting of Libre Graphics Research Unit is taking place in Brussels. We haven't really introduced you to this new interesting initiative before, and Olivier Saraja volunteered to fix that.

In less than three weeks Brussels gets its annual peak concentration of geeks. On February 4-5 the Free and Open source Software Developers' European Meeting (FOSDEM) is bringing together developers and users of free software.

Blender Foundation opened pre-sale of DVDs with its 4th open movie, codenamed Mango Project. With this project BF makes a departure from animation movies to live action.

Ubicast.tv has just published videos from GStreamer Conference 2011 that took place a month ago in Prague. The conference was the second dedicated meeting of GStreamer developers as well as companies that make solutions based on this multimedia framework.

Organizers of Linux Audio Conference 2012 are inviting everyone to submit papers, music, installations and workshops for the next instance of LAC that will take place on April 12-15 2012 in the Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics in Stanford University, California.

On October 25-28 the annual VIEW Conference 2011 is taking place in Turin, Italy, to bring together professionals in CG. Just like the last year, both Blender, GIMP and MyPaint are going to be covered by developers and (mostly) artists.
