I don't know if you have heard of Krita(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krita) is a very good editing program, it doesn't have a lot of "propaganda" but is worth it, missed some functions but supports 32bits images and it's clean =)
Adding it to your website is a good idea, well i don't know if you have to ask or something but is a good raster editor.

Dear libreuser, we actually have an interview with Krita team on this web site , so yes — we've heard of it (and used it). Krita is shaping up well indeed

The best way to accelerate them is to write them Just kidding But seriously, I'd love to write some, I only need to start using Krita on daily basis for that.
