Libre Graphics Meeting 2011 starts today
Today is the first day of Libre Graphics Meeting, the annual conference for free graphics software developers and users. The program was finalized just few days ago, and if just like us you are not present at the conference, you are probably biting your elbows (well, attempting to).
If you skim over the program, you'll see that a lot of focus this year is on color management and spot colors, and fonts. The last year's trend of making the conference equally interesting for developers and users has luckily preserved. Actually, most talks this year are not by developers (for developers), even though many teams are present, e.g. Scribus, Krita and Inkscape teams. For developers every day there are three hours for meetings and birds-of-feather sessions.
A surprising guest this year is Michael Halpert of DeviantArt who will give a keynote on creating communities around creativity.
If you want to track what's happening during the conference, you can subscribe to LGM group at identi.ca. The plan is to record all talks and upload videos at river-valley.tv as usual. Finally, you can help the organizers to keep the conference free to attend by sponsoring it. The money will cover travel expenses for dev teams who attend, as well as other people who give keynotes.

Have fun!
I Wish I were there.
