Inkscape 0.48.2 released, GSoC is over
It's finally official: a new bugfix release of Inkscape, a popular free vector graphics editor, is out with nearly 60 fixes that address all kinds of issues.
Of those 59 bugs 20 are related to failing builds and various features crashing Inkscape, there are also fixes to Node, Bucket Fill and Tweak tools, and fixes to importing and exporting of EMF, WMF, PDF, DXF and XAML. Dutch, Galician, Indonesian, Japanese and Russian translations of user interface have been updated. Japanese translation of bundled tutorials has been added.
There will be yet another bugfix release in the 0.48.x series, and work on v0.49 is in progress. Speaking of 0.49, you can expect significant performance improvements, all kinds of clean-ups and much better use of CSS. Much of that is result of GSoC2010 and GSoC2011 (which is now over, with 3 out of 4 projects being successful). More on that soon.
