gps2jpeg 3.0

As a matter of fact, gps2jpeg 3.0 was released three weeks ago, but was entirely off radar due to lack of information in English about it.

So, what does it do? It allows inserting GPS data into Exif metadata in your JPEG images. Yes, you can do that in GPSSync from withing digiKam, but what if you don't use digiKam?

Here is the list of changes in perfect Brazilian Portuguese English:

  • multithreading support for various features, such as:
    • importing files;
    • removing Exif metadata;
    • inserting geo-positioning information;
  • timezone, lightsaving and tolerance info can be preserved in settings now;
  • all Exif and IPTC metadata can be viewed now;
  • gps2jpeg now can write itself to Exif.Image.Software tag (software that last edited the file);
  • you can zoom in and out of images;
  • you will need Exiv2 v0.20 to build it.

By the way, it's written in QT and is localizable via standard TS files (editable with QT Linguist).
