Yesterday Google announced that their search engine now indexes SVG documents, be they standalone or embedded into HTML pages.

Reportedly hyperlinks inside SVG files are not followed, so building entire websites in SVG seems to be impossible right now. This is, however, a huge step forward to indexable rich content websites built aroung open standards.
