GEGL 0.1.0 released
New version of GEGL, new GIMP's core, is out in the wild with mostly internal changes.
Changes:
- renamed gegl:load-buffer to gegl:buffer-source, and gegl:save-buffer to gegl:buffer-sink (old names still work);
- represent colors using doubles instead of floats (indepentent from internal processing);
- removed the GTK+ UI test tool and made gegl a colnsole tool that renders file using SDL;
- made debugging for buffer leaks easier;
- various public API changes;
- new sampler called GeglSamplerSharp;
- improved documentation;
- other changes.
The new version requires glib 2.20.4 or newer.
GEGL has four ongoing projects in Google Summer of Code 2009:
- Better nonlinear resampler with built-in antialiasing (GEGL);
- Fast Adaptive Resampler Tailored For Transformations Which Mostly Downsample (GEGL);
- OpenGL GPU-based Buffer & Operations in GEGL;
- Performance tools and study of GEGL.

You missed an important extension that now cames bundled with inkscape: Pixelsnap. A huge timesaver when working on images for the web. :)
Doh. And since it was me who found the extension on teh internetz and suggested to ship it with Inkscape, that makes me a rare case of a sinner :) Will add it now.
Indeed PixelSnap is so useful.
A small error: students who worked on the Spray Tool are from Centrale Lyon (not Lyon Politechnique) (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/École_centrale_de_Lyon ). It is not the same school that the one who hosted LGM.
Centrale Lyon brought LPE stacking/grouping 2 years ago and I hope will bring image links soon.
And then, I would like to sincerely thank you Alexandre for your dedication to the open-source graphics community. Your work is well polished and your reflexions very professional. Thanks a lot.
@Steren Thanks, fixed :)
