CGRU v1.5 released with more sophisticated support for Houdini
Timur Hairulin released a new version of CGRU — a package of tools for render farm management. This time the new features mostly add more flexibility.
Here are the most important changes:
- subtask dependence, so that you could break tasks into smaller tasks and start doing things without wauting for a whole task to finish;
- a new Errors Forgive Time variable that sets time, after which error host is "forgiven", so that rendering on it is resumed;
- a new Life Time variable that sets time after which a job is automatically skipped; it's useful if a job can take too much time to finish;
- Houdini ROP network: you can now create complex jobs with internal dependencies between ROPs for Houdini.
By the way, the previous version that we foolishly didn't announce, featured support for Blender 2.5x, as well as Autodesk Max, Maya and XSI 2012. The current version is available to download here.
